Drainage and surfaces
Virtual by Microsoft Teams
The Highway Authority is responsible for maintaining surfaces for rights of way within limited budgets. Where to focus expenditure, the importance of drainage and options for drainage and built surfaces, their characteristics, limitations and advantages depending on site are considered. Producing specifications, contracts, and managing a contract for best results are included.
Drainage and surfaces are large subjects, ranging from main rivers to causes of damage to surfaces. This course covers drainage as the element to protect a surface and provide a sustainable all-year surface.
There will be associated members' webinars on managing erosion, both undercutting and surface, damage to surfaces from human, animal or plant activity, and planning for climate change.
