Bridge works
Virtual by Microsoft Teams
Bridges are expensive assets and are the greatest liability of a rights of way service because of potential for serious incidents from failure. Asset management has an important role in optimising operational life of bridges, creating inspection regimes and records, enabling decisions about repair or replace, risk, and choice of materials. This course is the second of three: Inspection; Planning works; Asset management, policy and protocols.
Continuing from the Inspection course, it considers the decisions to be made on work required following a negative inspection report, from access to site to design to planning for implementation in awkward conditions. Contracts for work are not covered.
